Dr. Tony d. Roebuck
B.A., B.S., M.M., D.M.A.
Let the Bright Seraphim, from Händel's Samson (Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Columbia, SC)
It has been my honor to perform at hundreds of occasions over the past 28 years. Whether it is a wedding, a funeral, a church ceremony, or performing the national anthem at a sporting event, it is my goal to supply the highest quality music to enhance the audience's experience while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
While this site is primarily for my wedding services, I do perform in many other venues. As far as weddings are concerned, I have performed weddings for nearly every denomination and many settings both inside and out. Recently, I began to perform weddings in gardens alone. It may sound strange, but the first bride that requested a true "solo" trumpet, that is alone, did not want to pay for a group and told me, "I just don't want to hear the crickets." While skeptical at first, I found out that it worked well and the bride was ecstatic after it was over telling me, "That was perfect... exactly what I wanted."
Performing solo trumpet music well is an art. It takes many years of practice to learn how to play the trumpet well. It requires more than time to add an artistic touch to a performance. Some say musicality and musical artistry can be taught while others say they are gifts. What is a known fact is that their presence or absence can be heard. Your special occasion should have the very best!
Before you hire a friend, relative, or high school student, contact a professional for guidance. While everyone needs a place to begin a career, they should be prepared. If you want to spend less for an amateur, you usually get less. Feel free to ask for advice in selecting a soloist, even if you do not select Dr. Roebuck. It is his wish to help you make your occasion one you can remember with glee - not a grimace.
